Philip Treleaven, the innovator of fraud detection systems, speaks with ethical AI expert Clara Durodie on how AI is shaping the future of investment banking, private banking, and wealth and asset management

About the speakers:

Philip’s research and teaching interests cover Financial Services (e.g. computational finance and algorithmic trading) and the Creative Industries (e.g. anthropometrics surveys using 3D Body Scanners). In Financial Services Philip has established major and unique collaborations with Reuters, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and other leading investment banks, who have donated a virtual trading floor.Philip is responsible for the UK PhD Centre for Financial Computing, and is principally known for pioneering the use of computational techniques in finance, where his team's research underpinned much of the early work on automated fraud detection, and led to the launch of the highly successful SearchSpace company. Today he works in areas such as Algorithmic Trading.


Clara Durodié is a leading expert and author on AI governance for business growth and profitability in financial services. She advises boards of directors on best practices in the adoption of AI systems. Clara is a frequent speaker at leading conferences and guest lecturer at universities such as Harvard, MIT, and Oxford. Clara authored Decoding AI in Financial Services. This is the first book to examine how AI impacts corporate governance, business strategy, and profitability. It is regarded as the definitive book for corporate boards.

Clara formerly worked in asset and wealth management in London and Luxembourg, and holds a degree from the University of Oxford.
